The Blob was dumped in the Arctic so it would stay frozen. But with global warming, the blob would thaw out, roll onto ship, consume all of the crew. And when the empty ship reaches a port, disembark, and start killing off people again.

I loved that movie when I saw it as a kid. Your idea is a good one if someone wants to write a sequel to the original Blob movie. I don't think anyone would read it or watch a movie about it. Of course, you never know it may be worth someone's time to try, if they have contacts in the 'business'!

How would the ship get to the port if the blob consumed all the crew? Does the blob know how to operate the ship and how to navigate?
 

Easy. We get Elon to shoot the blob into the sun. The last thing it will have to worry about is being too cold.
