Becoming more convoluted every time I want to sign in to g mail or my phone account

Too often now I am taken on a journey I do not want to go on.
There is a box that says, Trust this device? then it states, if yes, we will not have to go through the two-step verification process. I click it, but it takes no notice. Got to go through the same process every time.
I wish there was an actual person I could stand in front, I would punch him in the nose.

That “Trust this device” box often does not actually stick if something else changes in the background.

A few common reasons:

• Browser updates or clearing cookies makes Google forget the device
• Using private or incognito mode
• VPNs or security software changing your connection
• Signing in on more than one browser or device
• Google deciding to recheck things anyway, even when you did nothing wrong

A couple things that sometimes help:

– Use the same browser every time
– Make sure cookies are allowed for Google
– Turn off any VPN temporarily and try once
– Go into your Google account security page and remove old or unknown devices, then re-add the one you use

Thank you for the advice.
I use the same browser, only one laptop, no VPN.
