Bed times & Wake times

Signe The Survivor

On Hiatus until unknown time
Do you find as I find that as you are getting older you go to bed earlier and rise for the day earlier? For me I usually go to bed around 10 p.m. and will wake around 8 in the morning. Now I am one that is not to fall asleep immediately when I lay into bed, but I do usually get into bed by 10 p.m.

I'm in bed by 7:30pm, read a little or watch TV. Lights out by 10pm. I find it much harder now to sleep through the night. I usually get up @6am, putz around a little, then off to work @9:00.
I also find it harder to sleep through the night. I wake up to use the bathroom more frequently now then I did when I was younger that is for sure.

I'm in bed usually around 11PM, sometimes I'll go into the bedroom around 10ish and will watch a short stand up comedy with my husband before we call it a night. I'm usually asleep by midnight. I do keep a tiny radio under my pillow if I want to listen to a talk show in the night if I'm restless, usually public radio. I'm up around 7AM, that's when my dog is ready to go out in the yard for a few minutes. I usually get up two or three times to use the bathroom at night.

I'm on this forum late at night, until 1am or 2am my time, then I sleep until 9:30 or 10:00am. My partner sleeps in another bedroom because we both snore and would kill each other if we slept in the same room. ;) He is not on SF because at 56 he still thinks he is a Spring Chicken. :ROFLMAO:

Into bed just after 11, set a podcast to run for 30 minutes and am generally asleep after 20. minutes of it. The annoying part is waking up about 1/2 hour after that. Getting back to sleep is a challenge. Then there’s the 2-4 hour wake up in the middle of the night. I’m usually awake by 8, though sometimes the alarm goes at 8:25. Never sleep later than that.

I go to bed later since I retired. I'm always finding something to do around midnight - something that "Just Can't Wait" until morning - laundry, vacuuming, etc. I'll try to sleep around 2:00am & I usually get up around 7 - 8am. Sometimes, I'll sit at the piano. Luckily, I don't live in an apartment or condo; I'd never get away with making noise at those hours.
Often, my blood sugar will spike up & down, making sleep impossible. When it's high, my heart beats too fast & I get short of breath & I have to get up & take extra insulin. Same thing when it's low, but then I have to get up & eat sugar. Then I have to wait an hour or two before even trying to sleep again.
Sometimes, that takes most of the night & around 5 - 6am, I'll say, "Screw it; I'll just stay up & try to sleep earlier tomorrow." :giggle:

Signe...I don't even know anymore! My BFF marvels at my sleep schedule, which now is basically a non-schedule. Over the past few months, I'm up in the middle of the night and nap during the day. Since I started new medication a week ago to lower my blood pressure, I'm sleeping even more during the day! I'm going to cut out the morning dose. I've gotten up from my sleep anywhere from 9:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. It depends on when and how long I've napped. Now that my son is here with me, I'd like to be up at least a half hour before he leaves for work which is around 3:30 a.m. That way he doesn't feel he's disturbing me when he's making his coffee.

For the past 5 yrs M-Fri I stayed awake because my favorite show on cable'The 11th Hour with Brian Williams' on MSNBC.from 11-midnight. I've been a long time fan of his,he always had interesting guests, loved his sense of humor Alas,he left the network on Dec 9th,I now go to bed around 10,10:30
I'm a morning person I usually get up between 6:15- 6:45, get dressed and take my early morning walk before breakfast. After lunch I take an short afternoon nap for 10-20 min

We've talked about this before on here, so most people know I'm a night owl, always have been even since being a child. I took early retirment 4 years ago, and so now I sit up regularly until 2 or 3am.. , and I get up no later than 9am.. but much more often around 8.....I do miss being able to sleep late in the mornings after going to bed so late as I used to be able to.. but now that eludes me..

Bedtime is 7:00 - 8:00 pm.

I'm up around 11:30 pm - 2:00 am.

My day pretty much ends by noon each day when I take a nap.

My schedule upsets some people, but it works for me, and these days, it's all about me! ;)
Hey if it works for you then that is all that matters. No one else has to live it. I imagine it is quiet once you get up especially around 2 a.m. and so on.

I start getting ready for bed around 10pm, but usually don't crawl in before 11. There are all these times consuming things that have to be done: last potty call for the dogs, nighttime treats for the dogs and the cat, final cleaning of the litter box, security check of the doors, my own small bedtime snack, last minute check of SF, shower and all the other personal stuff.

I fondly remember the days when it was shower, brush teeth and sound asleep within 15 minutes, very few worries, and no getting up in the middle of the night. Those days are long gone.

My sleep pattern is all over the place. I have no set time for getting up or going to bed. Sleep is sporadic, with brief daytime naps. I used to be a definite night owl and still lean that way, but now often find myself up with the birds!
