Been getting some winter grown tomato's

Remember when... thirty seemed so old.
I was told several times that one can't grow tomato's in the winter in central Florida. Didn't make any sense to me, so, I built some raised gardens and away we went. Had to cover them because of the cold blast we're having. (mid 20's). and I had another 12 or 14 growing in 5 gal buckets that I had to move into the garage.

There was some green ones that didn't seem to be ripening, so we stuck them in a cardboard box with some granny smith apples and a bunch of banana skins. Covered them with real newspaper, (not that shiny stuff) and waited. It worked... they are ripening quite well. (y) Been told it will ripen a grapefruit also. We shall see.
