Beets and Blood Pressure

I love beets. I put them in salads, eat beets with cottage cheese for lunch, and occasionally serve them as a veggie side with dinner.
 
Update. I've been taking the Super Beets chewables for some time now, along with a natural supplement called Blood Pressure Support. I went for the results of my physical today and my blood pressure was 140/80. For me, that's great because my systolic blood pressure was 160+ in previous years. I'm a believer.

I am happy when I get a reading in that area also My high numbers were around the 160 plus a year ago also. I'm glad the Super Beets are working for you ! It has been a big change this past year to have some sort of daily regimen because of my health . Kudo's to you for sticking with yours !
 
I love fresh beets, either raw or baked in the oven with a little butter. Unfortunately, fresh beets make for a rather spectacular.....uh.....color show in the toilet bowl, at least for me. Last time, they even made my urine red.

Thank goodness, I knew that was going to happen, otherwise I would have been worried.

Now, canned or pickled beets don't do that, which is good because I could eat pickled baby beets all day. But I wonder why the canned ones don't affect me.
