Best CPAP mask

I bought a very good CPAP machine a couple o years ago and it has made my life so much better because I can get a good night's sleep every night. My biggest problem has been finding a face mask that I can tolerate. The best I've found is the Philips Respironics DreamWear under the nose nasal mask. I like it for several reasons; it doesn't make my nose sweat causing it to itch, and the hose connection is on top of my head so I can sleep on my stomach easily. What have been your experiences with CPAP equipment?

My goodness. In the past 14 years that I have been on cpap (I now have a bipap, my 3rd machine), there is too much to say to relate my experiences. Long story short, I have used about 10 face masks in all. I always fall back on my Micro Mirage. It is easy to clean, to place on and off nose, it doesn't leak, it fits comfortably and all in all it does the job for me. But everyone is different and it may not do that for you. I also have a full face mask in case I have a cold and can't breathe through my nostrils. By the way, I also keep my AHI between 1 and 1.5. Hope this helps.

My husband has been dealing with this issue and couldn't find anything that worked and gave up on his CPAP. He has these blisters, etc on the bridge of his nose, bought some kind of liner which didn't work, so he went to see his doc. Returned the CPAP machine and now on to some mouthpiece from the dentist..........

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about 6 months ago and referred to a local company for supplies. They were the worst company I have ever dealt with as far as customer service was concerned. I was given a full face mask - even though I told the rep I couldn't wear it- that it hurt my nose; that the sleep tech had fitted me with an under the nose mask (I'm a mouth breather ) - at the time I didn't know its name. I was told that I had to use the full face mask for the first month and could get it changed in 30 days (she later changed it to 90 days - in the same visit!). I wore it one night and my nose was so sore I had to pad it to get a 2nd nite. I tried to call her - 5 times over the next 10 days - she never answered the phone (she was always "out") I left my name and phone number and never did hear back. I finally notified my doctor and he changed me to another company (they'd been getting a lot of complaints about this particular company). It took me about 3 weeks to get in to see them because they'd been inundated with new clients. They gave me the Amara View mask - which was the one the sleep tech initially used. This new company is great and from the first night I have had no problems with the mask. My daughter has the same problem, but she is able to use the nasal mask and has no problem with it.
