Best "National Anthem" ever....

Excellent, I couldn't figure out what it was going to be
while he was drawing it though.

Very clever.

Mike.

Thanks Don, that was neat! :thumbsup1: I think he had a great voice too, just hard to sing perfectly when you're so busy with the art work.

I went to a hockey game last month here locally. The Marines marched out onto the ice carrying the colors and then the National Anthem was played. As the last note was still being played, a few of the players began to skate onto the ice before the last note had finished and the Marines with the colors had left the ice. Those of us that were in the military know that you continue to stand until the last note has finished and the colors have been removed. The players that were on the ice before the last note was completed and the colors were removed were booed by about half the crowd. A lot of the spectators did not know or understand why they were being booed and then the announcer came on over the loud speaker and said, "OK, let's try it again and this time, please remain standing until the colors have left the ice."

Finally, everyone understood and the Anthem was played again. The Marines had not yet left the ice, so everything went well the second time around. For those of you that were never in the military, please remember never to lower your hand from your heart while the Anthem is being played with the colors being displayed by an honor guard and if the colors are being presented, not to sit down until the colors have left the arena, stage or wherever you are. If the colors are on a permanent flag pole, everyone should remain standing with their hand over their heart and not to lower it until after the last note has finished.

Also, if anyone is wearing a hat or cap, they should remove the item and hold it in their right hand while placing their hand, not their cap or hat, over their heart. If anyone is in the military and in dress, then they stand at attention and salute while the anthem is being played. It is all about proper flag etiquette. It is one of the first things we learned while in boot camp.
