I recently finished a book written by a man who flew a B-17 bomber over Europe in World War II. It is a detailed personnel account of his experiences piloting a bomber with a crew of nine soles into France and Germany. I could not put down this book, it was like watching a great movie. Some parts are heart breaking others were purely exciting. I highly recommend this book to all who love non-fiction reading. The book is ...Damn Lucky by Kevin Maurer. Maurer is listed as the 'co-author' as he captured a wrote the story of Captain John Luckadoo

I don‘t read a lot of nonfiction, but I enjoyed a Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson, and several American history books by Brian Kilmeade, like George Washington’s Secret Six.

Nonfiction is just about all I read, it's hard to name favorites but I really enjoy the ones about survival the most....Alive comes to mind.

I read mostly nonfiction. My current read is They Want to Kill Americans: The Militias, Terrorists, and Deranged Ideology of the ***** Insurgency by Malcolm Nance. It's mainly about the QAnon cult.

I too, read mostly nonfiction I can't name just one, I was trying to read John Bolton's book The Room Where it Happened, but this new kitten doesn't allow for serious reading, so now I'm reading a fluff memoir. When our baby (kitten) gets a bit older I'll try again.

Wife has been reading a series by Ken Follett. She picks my brain with questions about WWI, WWII, the Korean War and lately the Vietnam Conflict. The wars have always held my interest. I try to watch and critique the supposed true events as told by Hollywood, knowing that the writers like to embellish the facts.

I read mostly non-fiction except I was once on a Kevin Schutte binge for awhile. I checked our online library catalogue and they have Damn Lucky. I'll wait till winter to check it out since I don't have time to do it justice this time of year. It will dovetail nicely with the movie Twelve O'Clock High on the same subject that I just finished.

Chet, I read pretty much all books I can find that are historical accounts capturing the experience and perspective of someone who actually was in the war. Primarily, World War II, although I have also done a few on the Civil War.

I will look up Twelve O'clock High, that you mentioned. I saw the movie but did not read the book yet.

For the last 6-7 years I have been following the development of a new TV Series, now being called, Masters of the Air. It is now, finally actually in production. Tom Hanks and Spielberg are leading the work on the series. It is the story of the 8th Airforce in WWII. It is targeted to come out in December 2022 or January of 2023. They are saying now it will be released on Apple TV...

Another of my favorite books is about WWII Submarines. Thunder Below by Admiral Eugene B. Fluckey! It is about one sub, the USS Barb and how they revolutionized submarine warfare in WWII. They also are the only American ship with a battle flag that includes a Japanese troop train that they 'sunk'!?
