One of my all time favorite TV stars,Betty White is 96 today,truly amazing,still working
She co-starred in 2 classic TV sitcoms:
"Sue Ann Nivens" ,Mary Tyler Moore Show '70-'77
"Rose Nyland' The Golden Girls '85-'92
She co-starred in another sitcom'"Elka Ostrovsky" 'Hot In Cleveland" ''10-'15. I never saw this show
Betty has won 5 Emmy awards;
best supp actress for MTM '75,'76,'86 for Golden Girls,guest actress in '96 for John Laroquette Show,hosting SNL in'10
Her other awards:
Grammy for Best Spoken Word album'If You Ask Me{and of Course you Won't}'12

Walk of Fame Star'88,located next to her late husband,game show host Allen Ludden
She has been a long time animal welfare activist
My favorite character is her portrayal of 'ditzy' Rose on The Golden Girls,very funny. I loved the show when it first aired,still makes me laugh in reruns Sue

I agree.. and at risk of finding myself in the tower with my head about to be detached from my shouldes.. we all admire the Queen for being so wonderfully fit and well and still working at age 91... but she has always had everyone else doing everything for her, from running her bath to dressing her, and a whole bunch of doctors available at a moment's notice at the first sign of a sniff of a cold... and all her food is grown or raised organically on her own land, ever since she was born.. and cooked by the best chefs available... She's never had to walk around a supermarket wondering what to make for dinner, nor scrub her own kitchen floor.. She's never had to arrange her own transport anywhere, nor did she even look after her own children when they were small, much less find babysitters for them on the odd occasion she could go out..

Not taking away from her that she's had a hard job for the country , ( believe it or not I'm a royalist) ..but Betty W is 5 years older.. working hard still , and I doubt she's had half the privilege that HM has had since birth....so I wish BW would tell us the secret of her long life.. :D

Happy 96th, Betty!

I thought this was interesting, LOL!!!

Betty White is older than sliced bread. Sliced bread was introduced in 1928 by inventor Otto Frederick Rohwedder. Before this moment, bread was sold in whole loaves as bakers didn't trust sliced bread could stay fresh. Betty White was born in 1922 and spent her early years not eating sliced bread.

That explains my mother-in-law..She was born in 1920..

Several years ago, Betty mentioned in an interview that of the four ladies, she was the oldest. And she is now the last survivor of the Girls.
