BIG trouble I was in today...

Well, I was eating my spicy tomato soup today in my chair, like I do most lunches... When I thought I would check on my email, and maybe see what is going on here, grabbing my laptop, and doesn't the &#^&ing cord catch my cup, and all over the light-coloured chairs we just purchased a year ago...The now light beige is all red...

All down one arm, down the seat part of the chair, all over the carpet Lorie just bought... Everywhere... Well, I scrubbed, and scrubbed with carpet cleaner and a brush... and my mother up above must have done something because I got every inch of red out of the chair... I was so lucky... But yes, I am not allowed to eat in the living room any longer... I was lucky it came out...

Well done for getting it out. I was a bit  when I read that you had scrubbed it because it's what I would do and, in the past, the scrubbing has done more damage than the thing I was removing so, you were very lucky. :)

Well done for your persistence.
I would have been mortified had that happened to me.

If I can imagine an accident, its bound to happen. So either I cover everything with plastic or eat exclusively in the kitchen.

As kids we were never allowed to have food outside the kitchen. My father was a simple man with strict, simple rules.

It prepared me well for my senior years.

We all have accidents, usually we're just more careful next time, hope you can still enjoy your soup in that chair again. So happy to hear you were able to clean it quickly and thoroughly....kudos. I know you were in a panic and very worried, but trust me, some day you'll look back and laugh about it. :)

When I was a 13, I was drinking a large cup of grape juice. I went out in our Livingroom with it, so I could watch TV and sit on our new oversized couch. We also had a no drinks, no food, rule and my dad was pretty rough when we screwed up...

As I sit down, I spilled the grape juice all over the seat of the new couch. I ran back to the kitchen to get rags and cleaning brushes and soap. I scrubbed and scrubbed that seat cushion, but the stain just would not come out, it had soaked into the fabric and padding in the seat. I knew I was about to be killed by my parents...as soon as they discovered it.

My parents would not be home until after 5pm. I finally gave up on scrubbing it, so I ended up flipping the pad over and putting a clean old towel under it. I had no hope of getting it clean and I knew my mom would flip that pad over next time she vacuumed, which she did at least once a week. My life would never be the same!

I worried every day that this might be the day I am found out and my life, as I knew it, would be over. Day after day nothing happened. I spent over a week sweating about it. Finally, I had to check it out myself, surely mom had flipped that cushion over. So, I waited until my parents had left for work and I went over and flipped the cushion over. The towel was gone, and the cushion was clean, no stain or remains of a stain...looked brand new? To this day I have no idea what happened, and I never asked!

Good story!

Yup, there were lots of words, and yelling at myself... But I was able to get all the red stains out of the chair... In the spring, I will take both matching chairs out to the garage to clean both chairs... Since the chair is now dry, all I see now on the chair is where I pull myself out of the chair, some blackness... which I don't understand, cuz my hands are always clean... But I will take care of it in the spring... going to research a good cleaning agent for upholstery ... I read peroxide and a little bit of dish soap...
