I visited that park a few times when I wintered in Hawaii on my boat. I may have hiked down into that crater. There was a trail system that formed a loop as I remember, but it was quiet and felt safe.

Yes, l wasn't born here, but my dad was, so when retiring from the military after 20 years, we all came back to live in Hawaii
again.
