Blacks Actors Are Not The Only Race To Be Humiliated On Screen

Of course not. Native Americans were humiliated on screen more than any other race. At least in American movies.
John Wayne's movie The Searchers, is considered to be one the most anti- Native American movies ever made.
The first time I was aware of it was when I watched the PBS mini series Images of Indians, in 1979. After seeing the terribly one sided movie, I found myself with tears in my eyes, and shame that a famous actor would make such a movie, and without caring how it portrayed a whole race of people. The main reason why I strongly disliked him as an actor. I may be German-British, but I have some Mohawk in me, which is probably why I hated that movie so much.

I've never seen … The Searchers

The speech by JFK on the American Indians meant nothing to Americans of all creeds and colors then and is not even a footnote nowadays. Shame.

I once read an early American school book that taught children that they were 'surrounded on three sides by savages', paraphrased.
I have a 6th grade history book, not my school, which refers to them as "ugly savages." I once quoted the passage on a forum, not sure which forum.

I also read, many years ago, a newspaper article that said Alaska-native culture is stupid and backward, they should forget about it, and join the modern world, or words to that effect.

You think you got it bad! Ha! Where I live the "whites" have been apologising for the last several years for everything they did in the past. We have been apologising for using English street names, running residental schools a hundred years ago, "discovering" America, building churches and it just goes on and on.
