Brandy bar...

Last night we went to a "brandy bar" to drink and listen to a band. Although I've never been a brandy fan per se, I had a Brandy Alexander that I could have dived into head first....it was THAT good. I wanted to lick the glass after I was done but I restrained, I restrained.

They also had some great snacks. I had the "trout tray": trout spread, trout jerkey, pickled trout, trout caviar, and trout pastrami, along with some pickled vegetables and crackers and bread rounds. Yummeeee! We also had some "cheese boards" with some very unusual cheeses (some I loved and some I didn't.)

There are so many quirky places to hang out here in the Blue Ridge. It's definitely a hipster spot and though I cannot describe myself as a hipster at all, I do enjoy reaping the benefits.

Brings back memories of a friend whose mother used to make us Brandy Alexanders--yes they are good and haven't had any in ages! Sounds like that was a very good time you had there. Don't know if I could go for all the Trout things but would be willing to try them at least. :giggle:
