I agree, but we live in an anti intellectual society especially America. At best, the public
is indifferent or apathetic toward intellectuality unless the person is rich and successful.
Some people will only tolerate the highly intelligent individual,especially in the liberal
arts and sciences.But In business and technology, it is is admirable to them. By the way,
high intelligence or honor society does not attract potential dates or spouses. Sometimes yes not usually.
Especially true for women, and also men. This is a fact.
This is not a new trend, not at all. Look back to ancient Greece and Rome. The male athletes (usually nude)
were most admired and envied. Not, certainly, the followers of the great philosophers and wiser men.
We all want to see action! Running, jumping, catching balls. It is entertaining. I like watching hockey
because it relaxes me. Then also, most people are not educated or educated well and are intimated by
very intelligent folks who are above them. It may be sour grapes or a different wavelength.
