I have and I posted links to several legitimate studies. You, on the other hand, have not.

Individuals who choose to ignore facts and evidence that contradict their beliefs are nothing short of reprehensible. They reflect a closed-mindedness that is antithetical to the spirit of intellectual inquiry and critical thinking that are the hallmarks of an educated society. Such individuals prioritize their own opinions over objective reality, thereby perpetuating ignorance and disseminating falsehoods.

Moreover, this stubborn insistence on clinging to misinformation can have dire consequences. It can lead to the spread of harmful beliefs and ideas, hinder scientific progress, and even contribute to the erosion of democracy. The refusal to acknowledge facts in public discourse is a disservice to society, and a mark of intellectual laziness.

So I ask again, do you have any legitimate sources that substantiate your opinion?

From the same article...
"A cloth mask does not sufficiently filter out the air particles encasing the virus that come into the wearer, but it reduces the number of air particles going out."

So it provides protection, not necessarily to the wearer but to other people. That's what experts have been saying all along.

In other words, they are of some use and are not "useless."

The Washington Examiner is not a reliable source for information.

If people really cared about children and other people they would NOT be trying to get them to be deprived of oxygen and prevented from eliminating carbon dioxide and other waste products from their lungs.

Low level of oxygen <-- in adult from wearing a mask in just a few seconds.
High levels of CO2 <-- in 11 year old child from wearing different masks in just a few seconds.
Testing of other types of masks, including high levels of carbon dioxide under face shields at 9:17. <--

Additionally, viruses can easily pass through materials designed to block large particles like dust or pollen.
Even a plastic bag over your head wouldn't be able to keep viruses out, because viruses can be absorbed through your skin.
But you'd be dead at that point anyway, from not being able to breathe.

Personally I'd rather be able to keep breathing, which is why I have never worn a mask to try and keep out any viruses.

@John cycling, you brought up a good point on the carbon dioxide levels.

My cousin has had problems with her breathing for years. When she was working in the library, after they first opened back up after the lockdown, she had to wear a mask. Several times she became light-headed & faint which scared her co-workers.
If she wanted to work, she had to wear the mask. The library wouldn't make allowances, even though she was being treated by a doctor, because they thought others would want the same.

From that article...
“Various laboratories have measured the filtration efficiency of different cloth materials used in masks. Cloth materials typically block 10-30 per cent of aerosol-sized particles that contribute to [the] airborne spread of SARS-CoV-2,” she added.

Any kind of mask has some level of protection for other people since the turbulence created in the mask if the wearer sneezes prevents most of the air molecules from exiting rapidly — thus, protecting other people who are nearby.

So they're not completely useless, but not anywhere near as effective as N-95 masks, which protect the wearer and those around him or her. Personally, I use the KN-95 masks.
