All types of travel from Britain to all other parts of Europe
and many other places around the World, has been banned,
they say that it is because of the new more virulent strain of
Covid-19, but I believe that the French have a lot to do with
it because they are unhappy about Brexit and what we want
against what they want, it is messy and I don't know all of it!

There are nearly 3,000 large trucks, some loaded and many
empty, with the drivers trying to get home for Christmas held
in Kent, 2000+ at an old Royal Air Force base, plus over 800
parked up on a motorway.

I think that the French are going to open the border tomorrow,
according to the news.

The very first sentence that I learned in 9th grade Latin was “Britannia est insula.”
Translation is “Britain is an island.”
Funny how little things stick in one’s mind.
 

Well not really... only if they get vaccinated. There's been some really ugly scenes with Eastern European truck drivers attacking British Police , who tried to prevent them from storming the docks .....

Anarchy was spreading across Kent today as fights broke out between lorry drivers and police at the Port of Dover and Manston Airport - and testing staff arrived in an attempt to get them across the Channel for Christmas.

Dozens of truckers trying to reach their homes on the Continent tried to force their way past officers guarding the port today. Hundreds left their cabs and walked along the A20 to the port entrance in Kent at 8am jeering and whistling, with some shouting in English: 'Open the border', 'We just want to go home' and 'F*** you, Boris!'

At one point several of them surged forwards towards a line of Kent Police officers who were forced to push them back as days of simmering anger at the chaotic situation amid the Covid-19 pandemic bubbled to the surface. Some drivers showed police apparently negative results, but an officer said a lot of them were 'fake test sheets'.

I understand their frustration, being stuck in the uk..but it wasn't our PM who stooped them going home it was the French president...

..and rightly so they should be tested before crossing into Europe ... but the poor people who live near the ports are suffering from the actions of these drivers too

I can only liken it to an American /Mexican border crossing...if people refused to be checked

I think every nation should retain its own identity and culture. Google, Apple and all the other hot shots see a glorious global community with all of us as their slaves. They choose your leaders and will pick out who wars with whom, etc. This concept has been growing since the end of WWII.

we're in the unique situation of having been our own country with our own identity and people, and culture, until 1973 when Edward Heath took us into the European Union, finalised by a vote from the people of the UK of over 60% in 1975... .. so now we're back out again, after many years of being dictated to by many other European countries, something everyone in the world should have known the British people by and large will not stand for... so here we are , Baby boomers and older who have experienced both sides of the coin...twice...
 
It is ironic really, when our leaders wanted to take
us into the "Common Market", it was the French in
the form of "General DeGaul", who kept us out for
a long time!

Now it is the French again in the form of "Emanuel
Macron" who doesn't want us to go.

Many believe that it is the beginning of end of the
European Union.
