British Music Invasion of the 1960's: Who's British & Who's American?

Paladin1950

Baseball Fan Forever!
There were a lot of British bands who wanted their music to be played in the U.S. Several British bands had American sounding names, probably to make American teenagers think that they are American. But American bands were competing against the British invaders, Several tried to sound British, probably to fool American teenagers into thinking that they were British, so they would buy their records.

Two Americans Bands
Beau Brummels (San Francisco)
Sir Douglas Quintet (San Antonio,Texas)

Two British Bands
Nashville Teens (also was once called Arizona Swamp Company) Surrey, England
Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas (England)

Except the Four Seasons, they stayed true.
I think the Four seasons uniqueness kept them current and very popular. I think that the minute you hear the beginning of a Four Seasons song you know immediately who it is. It must have been difficult for them because they were up against the biggest British Rock groups in the world. ..Beatles, Rolling Stones, Deep Purple.. Kinks.. and many, many more..
