My older brother always thought writing was this lonely voyage...man vs man etc...We differed in this area. He also once told me the best thing a Father can do for his kids is to die young. Again, we were at odds.
Anyhoo, in a couple of weeks it will be 2 years since Bro took his own life. No note...no goodbyes to family. He just went his own quiet way. I miss him dearly. In my own songwriting, I like feedback from others...input...different ideas on how to tackle a chord change or a lyric.
Bro and I were just different in our approach, which is okay. Not looking for any sympathy on this thread. Just reminded every Christmas of my beautifully talented brother...musician, screenwriter, athlete. He was everybody's life coach but wouldn't accept help himself when it was needed.
So this X-Mas I raise a glass to Bro. He lived it his own way and I'm not afraid of death anymore as I feel I'll join him someday in whatever realm that might encompass.
