I have been wanting to buy a new camera, but each time I go look at them, I get confused. I just want a simple point and shoot camera with some zoom, but not a lot of buttons and whistles. Any suggestions?
Few lower end P&S choices since the rise of smartphones. Have owned the tiny Canon ELPH190 camera a few years now. Amazon shows a $300 price or about $100 higher than a few years ago. Though 20mp's, like all other cheap point and shoots, the actual resolution is far less, maybe half. The primary reason to buy and use a P&S versus a smartphone is for a real optical zoom lens and the ELPH190 is 10x. Also conveniently has 720p video.
