Buzzy Basil and my nectar horde.

Some of you may remember me telling of sitting in a shady nook in the garden with my feet in a deep bowl of cold water, well, with this extreme heat it's becoming a habit.

I told of a squirrel, two blackbirds and a magpie all wanting me to shift out of the way while they soaked their feet too.

Today dear friends, I again was sat in my little shady spot with my eyes closed, when I detected movement and buzzing at the tip of my nose.

I opened my eyes, (going cross-eyed in doing so) and to my horror a bee (Buzzy Basil) was having a good look up my nostrils.

Because I spend so much time sniffing scented flowers in everyone's gardens, it's more than likely that I have a considerable amount of pollen stored inside my smelling apertures, and this cheeky beggar had the idea of pinching it.

I'm not too comfortable at the thought of having a bee mining inside my nose, and you never know, he may have plans of bringing his mates and starting a hive, because I do have rather large nostrils.

Anyway, I erred on the side of caution and took one of those covid masks out of my pocket. With it firmly in place, Basil became confused and buzzed off.

It was then that I noticed a puffin flying overhead, she sort of hovered above me, wiggled her backside at me, she winked suggestively and gestured me to follow her...... I tell you, there is no peace to be had in my little nook and I took the mask off. 😊
