California state worker celebrates 77 years of service, 100 years of life

A California state worker is celebrating her 77th year of working for the government -- and her 100th birthday.

The state government said May Lee, 100, is the longest-tenured employee with the state, as well as the oldest serving state employee.

Another remarkable long-time Californian works in Pt. Richmond (north of Berkeley/Oakland) for the Park Service - Betty Reid Soskin, 98 yrs young (she'll be 99 in September 2020!). She is the oldest National Park Ranger serving the United States.

She's a stalwart at the Rosie the Riveter Historical Park (everybody calls it a museum, although it technically isn't):

We met her the first time we visited, a few years ago. Delightful woman and sharp as a tack!
