Any Hockey fans out there? I've been a Boston Bruins fan since I was a kid. They're off to the best start in franchise history.
Still a long way to go and after the first-round loss in the playoffs last year, I'm not getting my hopes up.

As you can see, I'm a Predators fan.

Enjoy going to the games, but not holding any hope for a playoff spot, but it's still fun.
We are new and the city has 'taken a liken' to the sport.

A life long Leafs fan here. One of my second cousins, Mike Bunting played for the Leafs for 3 seasons, then was traded to the Hurricanes this off season. Of the 22 players on the current Leafs roster, 11 of them were born in Ontario, and a further 3 are from Alberta. Some of that is chance, but some of it has to do with the huge number of great players who come up through the ranks in the Ontario Hockey League Junior A system. Seven current Leafs players were team Captains in the OHL Junior A league.

Second generation Leafs players this year include William Nylander, and Max Domi. The kid from the desert, Austin Mathews is off to a great start, and in his first 2 regular season 2023 games, he scored a pair of hat tricks. Who says you can't play defense at age 40, and be the fittest guy on the team? That is Mark Giordano. Mathews and Mitch Marner share the lead with the most ice time minutes per game in the NHL. Woll in net has the best save percentage so far this season, stopping 67 out of 71 shots .

Playing hockey in Toronto is tough. The biggest city in Canada, with the most media attention, and the fan base is well educated about the game. Leafs season tickets are often a part of an estate settlement, when a ticket holder dies. With five professional sports teams in Toronto, each one has it's own fan base. Blue Jays, CFL Argos, Leafs, NBA Raptors, and Major League Soccer Toronto F.C. Add the Leaf's AHL farm team , the Marlies, and the Pro Lacrosse Toronto Rock, and the city has sports every night of the year, of some kind.

This year, 2023 , is the 150th Anniversary of the Toronto Argos football team, first started in 1873. Yep, a century and half of football history in Toronto. The CFL championship trophy, the Grey Cup was first awarded in 1909, so this is the 114th year for it. The Argos season so far is 15 and one. Not bad eh ? They will be the eastern conference team playing Winnipeg in the cup final. Go Argos.

JImB.

My wife is a Wings fan and I am an Avs fan. We also watch any good matchups. We also like watching the careers of Joe Pavelski and Cole Caufield. They grew up in this area. That adds a little excitement to the game.
My wife and I seem to be the only hockey fans in our neck of the woods.

I've been a Vegas Golden Knight fan ever since they came into the league 6 yrs ago
I was impressed how well they played in their 1st season making into the finals ,lost to against the Washington Capitals
I was thrilled when they won Stanley Cup last yr, the addtion of Jack Eichel certainly helped. He really could show the rest of the hockey league how good a player he is. Sadly, when he was drafted, he was taken by ,Buffalo Sabres{ I don't follow them a terrible team} He was happy to be traded to a better team

I sort of followed college hockey for a while and I liked to see where the best of them wound up afterward. My neighbor's kid played in Europe for a while.

Many southern Ontario hockey fans go to Sabres home games especially if the Leafs or the Senators are playing in Buffalo. Even with the dollar exchange rate, and the bridge back ups, it still draws fans. Here is a bit of Niagara Falls NY ancient trivia for you.

Back in the 1980's the Niagara Falls Convention center used to hold a winter indoor racing season, for three quarter midget cars on the concrete floor of the building. Imagine watching these fast little open wheel cars racing on the flat floor on a tenth of a mile oval track ? They used to pour coke syrup on the floor, to get the tires to stick. These events used to draw cars from all over the north east states, and Ontario, too. These cars run on alcohol fuel and by the end of the night the building was a haze of fumes and tire smoke. It was something to go to see in the winter when the tracks were closed. JImB.

Well your wife must have been happy this past Friday. I was at the Bruins-Wings game the day after Thanksgiving. It was a pretty good beat down on the home team that day.

Montreal Canadians vs Toronto Maple Leafs. Due to Papa working at local arena, I got, as a girl, the chance to play hockey with these two squads. Pre-1970s.

Most of these players have now left the sports, retired or sadly passed away. Nowadays, if I could still watch it on Sky, I'd be supporting Toronto Maple Leafs.

Wish I still have the original 1964 hockey stick with all the signatures from Leafs' players and one jersey. After Papa died, all was given away to charity, 😭😭😭. To this day, I can still shoot the puck from the blue line into the goal straight! Get in...
