Can Supplements prevent Alzheimer's?

I remember that elderly people were often referred to as 'doting'. This originally meant to lose one's mental facilities due to old age. In later times it also came to mean to show (sometimes foolish) affection. It's one of these words that I don't hear these days, but people used to say things like "He's doting on her" - He's madly affectionate towards her or "Never mind him,he's just doting" - he's talking rubbish.
It seemed to be more assumed that as people aged many would go into their "dotage" - I suppose that's what we now call dementia.

Exercise, a healthy diet, social engagement, and mental stimulation can all be
extremely helpful in preventing Alzheimer's disease or delaying its onset,
as all these things keep "the brain healthy".

Some studies are also looking at supplements that may help in the effort;

•Folic Acid: Taking FA helps reduce homocysteine levels, which can lower the risk
for both memory loss and heart disease.

•Vitamin B12...There support for a correlation between higher levels of B12 in he blood
and lower incidence of dementia diagnosis.
It, too, helps reduce homosysteine.

•Omega-3 Oil: Adding fish(salmon, tuna and trout) to your diet is an easy way to get more
of these healthy fats in your system, and fish oil is also available as a supplement.

It is recommended that you talk to your doctor before beginning any new regimen of supplements.

I take all these supplementsts.

Do you?..Or what do you suggest/recommend?

Stay healthy!
I take those supplements including many other on a daily or weekly basis. I don't know if any supplement can prevent Alzheimer's, but there are some that can certainly support brain health and memory. My memory was never great, but it's declined in my older years along with my eyesight, etc. The first one I've been using the longest and will continue with that one, it is the main ingredient of the Neuriva memory supplement advertised on TV. I may drop one of the other two in time, depending on how I feel. These things need to be used for a long time before knowing how effective they are. I think I've had some benefits so far, but it just may be I'm paying attention more to my memory and what I am doing.

I've been taking:

phosphatidyl-serine-100-mg-60-vcaps-now-foods-3.gif

I take multiple supplements and I exercise regularly. Supplements include B3 & K2 that @hollydolly mentioned. When I go to the gym I am on Word Serenity or Wordlook on my iPhone between sets to keep my mind active.

The only one in my family who had Alzheimers was my paternal grandmother. My maternal grandfather was as sharp as a tack when he passed away at 98 y/o. I have most of my mother's genetics (for good or for worse) and she was still lucid until she passed away at 89 y/o.

Thank you for the recommendations. I can barely fit all my supplements into the weekly medicine dispenser as it is, but I will look at these!
