Can you hide a thread or post?

The topic of the post is upsetting, however removing it due to it being upsetting to some would be wrong, its a fact that it happened and to remove or lock the thread would be censorship and that in my opinion is wrong. Just scroll on.
True actually. I managed a horse rescue for a number of years and did learn that the more people who are aware these things happen among us the easier it gets to prevent them. Be upset, yes, but be proactive about it.

I agree it would be wrong to take it off because some people might enjoy it or be interested in it. That’s why I just wanted to be able to hide it and not have it removed. I do believe in free speech.

As far as I know no one complained about the post or asked management to take it down. We simply recognized our dislike of it as our problem and found out how to solve it. Next time I object to a post I will know how to solve my problem, myself.

Still, some find this thread to be the problem. Can't please all of the people, all of the time, oh well.

While I find people being cruel to animals disgusting when animals do it to each other it’s nature and life. I am surprised that so many people are being so sensitive. I guess you guys can’t watch some of the nature shows on TV.

Nature TV shows.. are following Wild animals.. even then if a full size animal attacks another animals cubs..all but the hardest heart wouldn't cover their eyes, or turn away in horror..

No-one expects to hear in graphic detail on the forum about someone's ''trained'' tame Pet attacking and eating baby rabbits... and we have the right to ignore the thread because it's upsetting..

Here's my problem. For the last few years, I have been wondering about the extent the Holocaust had on my life. My family lost most of it's members. My neighbors lost most of their members. I was brought up as a young child seeing people screaming and crying in front of me. I remember people ripping their clothes, tearing it in despair. When I was four, I saw a pic of a lampshade made out of a Jewish chest. You could see the nipples.

So, lately I've been wondering how different would I be if I never saw that? More hopeful, more pleasant, less morose? Probably. But guess what, it's called Real Life. Real life sucks and it's dangerous, not fairy land.

Just came out of a pandemic where people, and we are seeing the ramifications still, freaked out over having to wear masks.

This is so cowardly, so shameful, to be sensitive over a dog eating rabbits. Grow up people. Looks
like we just can't stand anything, such sensitive souls we are.

Now you may think it's off the wall to compare stories of Holocausts and rabbit eating dogs but I don't think so. We don't have the guts our parents had and it's an embarrassing shame. Should I have been more protected? I couldn't have been. LIFE. It's gross.

I'm not ignoring what ?.. I'm ignoring the Dog thread ? .I have no argument with Della, she's a really nice person, the thread is upsetting, and clearly admin feels the same or the title wouldn't have been changed

You likening it to the Holocaust is diabolical, you should be ashamed of yourself! Put that whacky backy down...

Everyone is different. There's no reason to complain to others that they are too sensitive or not sensitive enough. We owned our problem and we fixed it .... for us. And that's really all we can do. We cannot fix other's sensitivity because they think we are too sensitive. And this discussion is getting silly.

No, Teacher Terry, I don't watch the nature shows and neither do I interfere with your ability to read about what happened to Della. Different strokes for different folks. That doesn't make either one of bad IMO.

I certainly don't want to speak for Della but it is entirely possible that she had such a bad night that she had to share it with somebody and I understand that. I would not stop her and I will not leave her on ignore. I just didn't want to see that headline all day. It's fixed and it would be over for me if others didn't think they needed to tell me what should or shouldn't bother me.

Good Lord, this entire thread went south. I'm sure Della wasn't trying to upset anyone. Her thread title was enough to let people know if they'd want to read her post. Instead of just moving along, a big deal was made of it. Sometimes it's best to just leave things alone and not call attention to them. That didn't help. Now people aren't forewarned as to the contents of her post because the title of the thread has been censored and changed to something non-descriptive. That didn't help either. Facepalm emoticon (Hand gesture emoticons)

This thread is going to be locked in a minute if it doesn't get deleted.
