Canada's longest-running movie theatre has been restored to its former glory

In Powell River, B.C., the reinvention of the Patricia Theatre confronts its dark past

Maybe it's the towering red velvet curtains that adorn the stage. Or the blue peacock-themed murals on the venue's walls that date back to the 1920s. But every time 89-year-old Stewart Alsgard steps inside the iconic Patricia Theatre in Powell River, B.C., eight decade's worth of nostalgia overwhelms him.

Having grown up in Vancouver, I'm always interested in what's happening around B.C.
If I still lived there, I would definitely take a trek to Powell River, and the Patricia Theatre.
I love inhabiting old restores theatres, as they invoke a feeling of past eras.

That's very good news. I love the old theaters, and there aren't that many left these days........anywhere. Now one goes to these multiplexes, and the screens aren't much bigger than what one can get for their home!
