Can't believe how fast our house sold!

We put our house up for sale on Friday afternoon (Dec. 24) and it was sold that night! We thought with the holiday's it would take longer but a couple from Atlanta, GA had been looking here (AZ) for quite a while and when it hit the MLS sites, she got a "ding" and she jumped on it. The market is super hot here and everything goes quickly. They even paid cash so no financing for them. We have been online all week looking in the areas we want to move to but inventory is spotty in some of those areas and when something comes up, it goes like hotcakes. I need that "ding" on my phone...haha. I've been packing but mostly spending my time trying to find a house for us. The buyers were very accommodating and gave us 60 days. Thank God. It's crazy!!
 

Congrats, Colleen! Yes, houses are selling quickly these days. Many are even selling above asking price due to bidding wars and the lack of inventory. It's crazy. Good luck in finding your next home!

No...that's the problem with selling it so quickly. It didn't give us much time to make a choice of houses on the market. Bad time of year. We only have until January 5-10th to find something because it will take at least 30 days for escrow. Cross your fingers for us🤞

Exactly the same thing happened to my Daughter last November... She was living abroad, and sold the house and business so fast she hadn't had time to find anywhere else to live back in the UK.. currently she's living in a rental property and still looking for a home, everything is selling superfast, and over the asking price..and because she works full time she can rarely get to view a house that comes on the market before someone else has bid for it .

That's great to have a couple months! And maybe they need the time to pack up and sell their current place?
Are there any contingencies and chance they might back out if they don't like a finding?
