Car Insurance Premium Rort

I received my renewal notice yesterday and typically the premium had risen by $60.
I contacted them through general enquiries stating - "I have never made a claim and you still raise my premium.
No wonder businesses are looked on as only there to make as much profit as possible. If I could give a negative star rating then your would receive minus 5."
They responded within hours
"Thank you for your online enquiry.
Insurance premiums have been increasing year on year, this has been due to the current global climate, the increase in RBA rates have also affected this."

I cancelled the policy and signed with the top rated car insurance company. Saving $405 in the process.
Never be afraid to look for a better deal. These companies rely on repeat customers simply accepting premium rises "year on year"
Look for a better deal if you think your service provider is taking your business for granted

Yeah, car insurance can be a real issue, as these companies are always looking for an excuse to raise their rates. Except for the years when I was overseas in the military, I've stayed with same company since I started driving. Every couple of years, I browse the rates from other companies, and seldom do I find a better deal....that "searching" usually just results in a bunch of nuisance phone calls and e-mails. I much prefer a company that has a nearby agent....rather than dealing with an 800 number, States away, if I ever need to make a claim.

Their reason for raising the premium?
Insurance premiums have been increasing year on year...... so why stop now:mad:

My Hartford insurance kept creeping up, both the car and home policies. I saved a few hundred by switching to Allstate last year. I think they give you low rates at the beginning just to pull you in, but then slowly start raising and you have to go looking again.
