Care Home Crisis

Similar mandates are in the works where I live.

The governor announced that all healthcare workers in the state, including staff at hospitals and long-term care facilities (e.g., nursing homes, adult care, and other congregate care settings), will be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 by Monday, September 27. The State Department of Health will issue Section 16 Orders requiring all hospital, long-term care facilities, and nursing homes to develop and implement a policy mandating employee vaccinations, with limited exceptions for those with religious or medical reasons. Based on this latest announcement, the vaccination deadline for the state’s patient-facing healthcare workers at state-run hospitals has seemingly been extended past Labor Day to September 27, although further guidance is expected from the state.

Good! I don't want any healthcare worker around me who has not had the shots or not wearing a mask. Its pitiful we have come to this. If you don't want the shots or don't want to wear a mask then go work elsewhere and endanger their lives. People have no common sense any more. We give our kids shots so they can go to school and protect themselves. I don't see the difference!

Same here, all hospital, care home workers have to be vaccinated. Sunday our hospital was closed 7-7 due to lack of staff, people are leaving the medical profession in droves and I for one don't blame them but who knows what health care will look like going forward.
