Career mistakes

I was talking with my niece (23) who has a degree, is working on her masters, and works at two jobs. She has been working since age 16, and has an excellent track record/resume.

We were discussing various mistakes people make in their careers. Looking back, I think conflicts with supervisor/boss is the worst. I’ve had a few horrible bosses, but instead of engaging in a battle I wish I’d put that energy into finding a better job and moving on. I also learned the hard way that when you complain about the boss, some co-workers will stab you in the back to gain brownie points (and because they love drama).

I never engaged in battle..I did exactly what you wished you'd done AC..and moved onwards and usually (not always) upwards..
