Since the pandemic, everything's gone up in prices, even our kitty cat foods' gone up too...
Whiskas has both Preservatives and Caramel Flavouring... Feline diabetes comes to mind. Sorry, not my favourite for health condition. I pass on this...
Currently, 7 months old kitten, who turns 8 months old next week, is getting 2 pouches kitten Morrisons wet. For dry, it's Purina One Sensitive Stomach, Turkey and Rice, whenever he's hungry. We put about a cup full in his dispenser twice a day. But at four boxes every two weeks or so, it's getting too much.
Depending on your water supply (ours is soft, so filters/pump lasts and lasts) on average you'll need to change filter and clean the pump every two months. Go for a stainless steel fountain, it's the best. If cleaning required, wash it in the sink or pop it into your dishwasher.
So, I'm going back to the days of no kitten food, following what my Father did. As CoffeeBean, eats chicken, beef, pork and gammon from our plates and his weight for his age is online, I'll be using the full adult cat food, 50g twice a day.
We did exactly that in the 70s and our litters of kittens we'd rescued thrived happily. The brand I'm getting is £10.49 for 40 pouches each 100g. Half will mean approximately 80 days. Bargain!
Just make certain that the food you're buying is grains, sugars and salt free and contains at least 40% meats. Then you're good to go and you'll have a happy healthy kitten.
Below's the fountain we have. He loves it, I've to add a litre daily to top up.
