Catastrophic floods in Spain, over 200 dead. People say no or poor warnings

It broke my heart to watch all those cars crashing into each other. I'm sure some people were trapped inside and couldn't get out. It's going to take years for the people to recover.
they just rescued an 87 year old lady today who was trapped in her flooded car for 3 days.. alongside the dead body of her sister ...

it's not just water it's thick filthy mud sludge, and sewerage

In Alfafar a small town outside valenica City, the Mayor said there are people living with Corpses at home...

"It's very sad. We are organising ourselves, but we are running out of everything," he said. "We go with vans to Valencia, we buy and we come back, but here we are totally forgotten."

A resident from the same town described the situation as a "disaster", as they said: "There are a lot of elderly people who don't have medicine. There are children who don't have food. We don't have milk, we don't have water.

My former neighbor who now lives in NC came to visit on Thursday. She related some of the horrors of her visit with friends in nearby Ashville. Apparently some of the homeless slept by the river and they just disappeared. There was no warning. The situation in Spain sounds similar.
I saw a house floating away in Ashville on TV. It was extraordinary.
