That's interesting. My cats of the past loved when I threw balled up wads of aluminum foil, but never returned them to me. They loved paper grocery bags most of all.
My first cat was able to stand on a chair, turn the knob, then rush down to pull the door open completely. It made a very particular sound. After he died, we still heard the sound. We would rush into that room & the closet door had not been opened. I told him he had to leave (why did I do that?) and the noise stopped. I had a witness.Out of all of my cats, I only had one when I was a kid that would fetch. This guy also learned to open the door between the upstairs of the house & the basement by holding onto the knob & turning it until it popped open. If we wanted him to stay put, we had to lock it, LOL.
I had one that did that as well. He would wait until he heard people in the kitchen and then start rattling the knob. Eventually it would open.Out of all of my cats, I only had one when I was a kid that would fetch. My orange kitty like candy wrapped in cellophane because it was easy to catch. When we were redoing a house we had a 6 foot ladder set up for quite some time. He would climb the ladder and we would toss a candy at him and he would usually throw it back to much applause.I play catch with our kitty. I roll a soft little ball to her and she bats it back to me. This can go on for a little while until one of us gets bored.![]()
