Cauldron falls in Wensleydale, Yorkshire. Lots of water about this afternoon!

I've never been able to make a waterfall look like that in my photos, but I see it in many others... what's the secret ?Cauldron falls in Wensleydale, Yorkshire. Lots of water about this afternoon!

Itās all about the shutter speed. The look that a lot go for where it looks like smooth milk needs a couple of seconds or more. I prefer some detail and a sense of movement. I usually shoot at about 1/10ā for waterfalls and this shot was 1/4ā. Most people will need a tripod for this but I have a very steady hand and my camera has very good stabilisation.I've never been able to make a waterfall look like that in my photos, but I see it in many others... what's the secret ?![]()
Stunning! I can imagine myself standing there hearing the sound...
and maybe even feeling a little of the mist.

Oh thank you! What a beautiful sound. It's been far too long since I've heard it in person... I'll have to rectify that, but probably not until spring.
