Be careful driving today as it is a pothead holiday 4/20, some studies have shown increased traffic accidents on this day.

Also keep in mind many police departments across the country will be using dui checkpoints looking for impaired drivers. Even though one is not a pothead it is still possible to get nabbed for one glass of whine or one beer too many while out dining or visiting. Since it's a Friday this will turn into a weekend event for all involved.

How about NOT drinking or drugging at all when driving.

Anyway this weekend in particular I'd go out of my way to drive safe including adequate stopping distances, maneuver room/an emergency out and use your mirrors to see what's going on around you.

Drive SAFE! You take the initiative and don't rely on other drivers and/or the laws.

Even not on this day one of my biggest fears are busy areas with alot of cross streets/getting t-boned with stop signs that many ignore. If I know it's a busy cross street I always take an extra look left and right to make sure no is trying to race onto the main road. These types of intersections are the ones a drunk or negligent driver seem to blow off.

Again take the initiative to be the safe and cautious driver.

I always assume they're all out to get me and drive accordingly. I'm seldom disappointed. Around here, a stop sign or a red light is only a "suggestion". Green means go, yellow means go really fast and red means stop only if you think there's a cop anywhere in the vicinity. Of course some other places (Rome, New Delhi and Istanbul comes to mind), a stop sign or red light isn't even a suggestion......it's a challenge that must be answered.
