CBS Must Be Broke

I see CBS airs two episodes of the Dick Van Dyke Show at 7PM I think on Wednesdays now. Have they run out of ideas? With all the media outlets now CBS counters with 60 year old TV in prime time.

Don't think they are broke. The difference in the episodes is that they were in color!. The colorized them and I really enjoyed them. They were a nice change. Finally funny comedy shows! A lot of us are enjoying the old shows. I saw Mannix the other day and other ones I used to enjoy. Andy Griffith and Barnaby Jones were also on.

CBS is not broke, the 2021 TV season has just ended,so the network is trying something different by showing old shows that were previously in black/white,now in color
In the summer when viewership is low, most networks will air repeats of their TV shows, have other programming to lure viewers in until new TV season starts in Sept

There seems to be a lot of re-runs on TV in the past few months....due, perhaps, to this virus, and studios not making new shows. I notice that there haven't been any new music concerts on MTV in quite awhile....also due to not allowing audiences to attend new shows.

There was an announcement, yesterday, that the Final season if The Vikings will begin its broadcast on June 5th, on the History Channel....I will definitely be watching....as I consider that to be one of the best series in years.

Add to this thread why are so many old game shows coming back to prime time? They sucked back then and they suck even more now.

OK but colorizing them does not make them funnier and they have been airing as reruns for decades depending on what tv stations are offered in all areas. My digital reception has shows going back to the 50 every night. Also, Fox is adding more and more animation series shows that to me are not nearly as funny as the Simpsons or Family Guy. Maybe they don't want to pay actors what actor can demand. To me the only person funny on the Dick Van Dyke show was Carl Reiner.
