that person is very interesting to me More often I notice they have very likable
attributes or so it seems ..and I also take notice of their confidence.

Well put. My mother-in-law could do things like ask the neighbors to quit making so much noise (because the baby was sleeping) and do it so sweetly it was like she was giving them a compliment. Maybe part of it is assuming the best of the other person. I do know that if you like people in general they tend to like you back, which gives you confidence in turn. It's a nice circular thing.

Babies need to learn to sleep no matter the conditions. Controlling the neighbors' actions is not a solution, IMO. Usually, anyway. The world doesn't go quiet for baby.

I think being charming and confident are acquired talents. It is knowing how to read a person, and how to appeal to that person. Some of the most charming and confident appearing people are psychopaths, because they can zero in someone, and know exactly what to say.

I have an acquaintance that is quite confident not necessarily charming but uses flattery to attract people around him. It is interesting to watch but it seems like a superficial approach.

After many years of abuse I managed to escape. It helped me to understand that sometimes such charm hides more sinister underpinnings. @fuzzybuddy said it well.
