Cheap chickens..

Occasionally Tesco offers 3 chickens for £10 (about $13). They're hardly top class birds - my daughter calls them 'Tofu with feathers', but they're good for making pies, curries etc.. I'm not sure how the birds are raised - probably indoors. I try to buy better quality free-range chickens, but given the ridiculous cost of groceries at present, you can make some good meals from these cheap ones. I wonder if anyone is making much profit from them.

I have to tell you.. I buy chicken from Costco..it isn't free range which would be my ideal.. but far too expensive, and anyway not available at Costco but the chicken thighs and or drumsticks I buy are very meaty and plump..and yet very cheap...

In fact just this morning I bagged and froze a whole tray of 24 drumsticks... ( and currently I have 2 baking in the AF)... and the whole cost of those drumsticks was less than £5.00
