Chicken and Glissants French-Canadian

My late mothers family were French - Canadian and they used to make this recipe.



Chicken and Glissantes... French Canadian recipe. GLISSANTES (Sliders, adapted from Trois Siecles de recettes au pays de Cadillac) Ingredients : 1 beaten egg,¾ c. milk,¼ tsp salt,1 to 2 tsp baking powder,2 c. flour to make dough, 3 pints of chicken broth. Combine the ingredients (except broth) to make dough. Roll thinly, cut in pieces. Drop one by one into very hot broth.Cover and simmer 5 minutes.Remove from heat, glissantes will absorb flavor.

My mother used the same recipe but called the dish Chicken and Dumplings. It's still a favorite meal.
