A child from a French couple on vacation died from an apparent fentanyl overdose left by the previous tenants in Airbnb rental. Death happened in 2021. They have since filed a lawuit.

They are suing Airbnb among others but some say proving 'the' source will be an issue. The parents were cleared as not having fentynal on them. Arbnb is being sued for not cleaning properly in between tenants.

Terrible tragedy.. I can imagine the parents anger, but if they didn't see it themselves when they arrived at the AirBNB, then it was probably not seen by the cleaners either.. so I would imagine they'll have a hard time suing for compensation.
 

It could've been fentanyl residue of somekind. Unclear if the child swallowed a pill or put fingers in a powder. One report said the previous renters had a party but if it's being regularly rented the residue could've been in a obscure place only a child crawling on the floor might notice.

If not a pill it's even scarier because that means a dealer was making or prepping fentanyl for sale or mixing it in other drugs they sell. A dealer might of used a rental to avoid a competitor or law enforcement.

They say just a few grains of pure fentanyl can take out an adult
