Chinese vaccine low effectiveness

BEIJING (AP) — In a rare admission of the weakness of Chinese coronavirus vaccines, the country’s top disease control official says their effectiveness is low and the government is considering mixing them to get a boost.

Chinese vaccines “don’t have very high protection rates,” said the director of the China Centers for Disease Control, Gao Fu, at a conference Saturday in the southwestern city of Chengdu.

Beijing has distributed hundreds of millions of doses abroad while trying to promote doubt about the effectiveness of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine made using the previously experimental messenger RNA, or mRNA, process.

“It’s now under formal consideration whether we should use different vaccines from different technical lines for the immunization process,” Gao said…..

Considering how much trust is being put forth, how many lives are at stake and how much money is involved, I’m as shocked as you. Not surprised by the info.... but VERY surprised by the admission. Maybe he was pressured to make the announcement

With communist China, it's never as simple as an "admission" of anything. They have unseen motives for releasing this kind of statement.

Why? I do it all the time.
Just last month, I called my doctor & said, "I accidentally swallowed a whole bottle of sleeping pills."
He said, "Have a few drinks & go to bed."

The vaccine he is talking about is not the MRNA one like Pfizer or Moderna. Now they are working on that kind since it is more effective.

Ahh. I read it wrong. Thank you for correcting me. I missed the part about that they are trying to cause doubt about the Pfizer one. Either way, it still kinda sucks.

If China couldn't control the origin and spread of this virus, I sure as He!! wouldn't trust the effectiveness of any "vaccine" their labs develop. And, as Mellow Yellow pointed out...this Chinese official who is criticizing the Chinese response, will probably soon "disappear".
