Chipped a tooth

It would be on Sunday. Eating caramels. Something crunchy that shouldn't be there. Yep, back inside corner of lower right molar (#30) broke off a chunk.

Ouch, that sounds painful, keep rinsing with mouth wash till you can get to the dentist.

Hope it wasn't too serious! Need to take care of it as soon as possible. See if it could be salvaged.

I called my dentist first thing this morning and asked for an emergency appointment. All booked up - 3 emergency calls today. Receptionist asked if I was in pain. I said 'no' and she said unless I was in pain, it was no emergency. Soonest appt. tomorrow 9:15 am.

The dentist examined the tooth and said there was another crack in it. He pressed down and more broke off. He had to do a restoration on about half the tooth. Better he discovered that crack than have to go back again when that part broke off. These teeth are over 60 years old, so I've gotten a lot of use out of them. I'm surprised they lasted this long.
