Last summer, I went on a long tubing trip. It was incredibly tiring and when I got to the "takeout" point, I overshot it and ended up beached on a small island in the middle of the river. I was beat, and I mean really beat and literally could not get out of the big tube. I was rocking from side to side in the hopes I'd roll out of the tube and figure out to get across the river.
I heard shouting and saw a young man yelling from the riverbank, "Ma'am, Ma'am, stay where you are! I'll come and get you!" He swam over, tugged me off the island and towed me back to the takeout.
I thanked him profusely and he said, "We'll, I sure wouldn't anyone to leave my grandma stuck over there." I was incredibly grateful for his help, but couldn't he have said "my mama"?......LOL. THAT would have been pure chivalry....
