I heard that Larry Hagman was an old school drunk. Very nice guy, but always a bit smashed.

I totally get why people drink. Life is hard.

Not my issue, but I have sympathy for folks with that problem.

I have many allergies and problems with drugs, even minor drugs like cough syrup. I don't get high or drunk, I just get ill. So, for me, there is no point anyway.

I'm surprised to learn about Michael Landon's drinking & drugs. I knew he was a smoker (like Patrick Swayze) but smoking is usually associated with lung problems.
I thought he was just a victim of bad health.
After my diabetes diagnosis, I learned how many important functions the pancreas & liver have to do. I can see how excess drinking can destroy both.
