Clorox Wipes Shortage

It is all over the news their wipes won't be available until next year due to high demand. The problem is related to a material used for the wipes. Should you make your own wipes using 5 tablespoons bleach to one gallon of water be aware the mixture is good for only three days. Instead of making a gallon use one tablespoon per 25 ounces of water.

But reusable washable cloths aren't disposable, Keesha.

This is what I've been met with lately when I bring up reusable things. I get the impression that if it isn't disposable in today's day and age, then it doesn't exist or cannot possibly be used, because A, it's either too much work or too hard to make, or B, it doesn't work as well as the disposable alternative, or C, people are too lazy, which I tend to believe is the case today.

This is true. You’re right. See I’m used to being at home and not really going out anywhere so I don’t even use the above. I use natural baby wipes for away from home messes and then liquid hand sanitizer for myself afterwards. If I went out often I would want something disposable. Good point. I didn’t think it all the way though.

Not at all, you thought it through very well, just that I wanted to add my two cents and experience as of late to your already great post.

I rarely disinfect anything. Hubby & I don't eat meat and rarely consume dairy though, which helps.

Toilet cleaner has some bleach in it already as does kitchen sink soft scrub cleanser. Other than that, soap and water are adequate. On the rare occasion when one of us gets sick I clean with a bit of bleach and also put the dishwasher into use.

Oh right. I see where you’re going now. I thought you were suggesting that home made sanitizer and cloths weren’t as good as prepackaged ones.
