Clothes or shoes you feel good wearing, (a perfect topic for a forum friend!)

We all probably have some favourite shoes, or clothes we've bought and think they look good, and whenever we wear them we feel that little bit better about the world.

It obviously changes over time, just as fashion changes, and these days exceptionally comfortable shoes can top all else I feel.

I dont have many pictures of myself but do have a couple of good two piece suits, (Italian manufacturers labels in them), so those do the trick for me.

At a country fair of cattle market a decent pair of boots, and occasionally a large, wide brimmed leather hat comes out, (not a Stetson yet though pretty close! ).

There is a science to color, hue, and tone and which ones make you look and feel better. You gravitate toward them.
Then there's style. Are you natural, classic, romantic, etc. You definitely feel more comfortable in your own style.
Then there's body type and which clothes flatter you and make you feel more attractive.

these days I favor loose and baggy and worn-soft. and with shoes, I discovered long ago, that if your feet aren't happy, then neither are you. back when youth was still on my side, I did dress a little 'flashy!'

A crisp white long sleeve blouse, with collar is a favorite of mine. Add a sweater, or cardigan, a light topper for events, with a good pair of heels or ankle boots, I always feel dressed well. Add a few pieces of jewelry, I'm ready any time of day.

My English walking coat makes me feel great. I like comfortable shoes and love sandals when the weather allows. I like diamonds but nothing gaudy and since I make a lot of crystal jewelry, mixing and matching is fun. I have many handbags and these complete my "look".

Clothes, you could say, are a passion of mine. I have posted much in the past, so on this thread I will show you a 1920's photo of Hollywood royalty. Douglas Fairbanks Jnr. & Mary Pickford. You see his shoes, I love his shoes, I know a rather talented cordwainer, need I say more?

The more relaxed, the better. Usually comfy slacks and a pullover, with some manner of slip on shoes. Generally, Sperry, Eastland or Weejuns.

I think blue suits me best too, (I'm glad you mentioned colours!).

About 15 years ago, I bought a 'teddy fleece' coat with a polar bear design on it. It's the most comfortable coat I own and is lovely and warm. I have never seen anyone else wearing one like it. A bit childish perhaps but you can get away with it when you're older.

My shoes are not in the class you've shown us here, though I doubt I quite could carry off that much style, (certainly not as you do so well ).

Such flattery, but don't stop. This blazer was on a trader's stall at some vintage festival that we were at. Either it's a size to small for me or my belly is a few pounds too big for the blazer. The finish on it is exquisite, it just had to be bespoke personal tailoring. The trader brought the price down, I couldn't resist, now I wear it "open." It's as the thread title says, an article of clothing that makes me feel good. It also helps to have a very talented wife to make the shirt and trousers that set the blazer off so well.

Horseless has a style I love! While I dress in jeans most of the time I also favor unique high style outfits. It is my “yes I can” to the world when the occasion demands it.

Graham, a Stetson is a hat made by the company Stetson, not a style. Not being a Texan, you can be forgiven. Stetson makes many different styles. For instance, the gambler is a dark colored hat with a flat brim. Seriously, Texans take their hats seriously, and there are lots of custom hat makers in the state who will steam the brim just so as well as customize the crease. Cowboys wear straw in the warm weather and felt in the cold months. Now you know!

Some years ago, someone suggested that I put my exercise clothes on first thing in the morning. That way I wouldn't be using "I don't feel like getting changed" as an excuse not to exercise. So that's what I do. (Because I'm a senior and don't sweat, the clothes don't get sweaty.)

So, black leggings and black sport top or T-shirt.

If I'm going out, I add a black knee-length skirt, plus a black overshirt, sweater, and/or jacket, depending on weather.

Why black? It's just easier. I hate mismatched colors.

Comfortable shoes or sandals, depending on weather.

I wear a nigtgown indoors. If I go out, it's a baggy t-shirt, jeans (under a coat in winter) and sneakers .
