This popped up in one of my news feeds. This is part of the intro for the content which features text, graphs and videos.
"So, how can you have the retirement you’ve always wanted? After all, retirees want to experience all the things they couldn’t do when they were too busy working. Exotic travel vacations, marathon running, novel writing, spending more time with friends and family — the possibilities are almost endless. There are several steps, which we explain in this retirement guide, from budgeting and setting goals to choosing the right retirement savings account that will help you map out a plan that’s right for you."

I'd be interested in reading your thoughts about the guide.

I scanned this article, and it pretty much agrees with other such advice I've read. Basically, it all boils down to planning for retirement at a fairly early age....via saving, investing, and paying off debt, etc. If a person waits until they are 60 years old, and heavily in debt, they are basically "screwed". Maintaining good health is also a major factor in quality of life in retirement.

Having little in savings, being in debt, and relying on Medicaid for health care sure makes for some "iffy" retirement years.

The sooner a person acknowledges that they, too, will get older, and starts planning, the fewer problems they will likely face.
