Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs), the primary type of fat found within coconut oil, have been found to boost cognitive performance in older adults suffering from memory disorders as serious as Alzheimer's -- and not after months or even days of treatment, but after a single 40 ml dose!

A groundbreaking 2004 study published in the journal Neurobiology of Aging found that the administration of medium chain triglycerides (MCTs), the primary fat type found in coconut oil, almost immediately improved cognitive function in older adults with memory disorders

I knew there was a reason you were such a genius! :p I like coconut oil, and I've tried the milk too. Having an aunt on my mother's side die from Alzheimer's, I'm trying to do small things to help keep from getting dementia. I'm a big fan already of herbs and supplements, so for me it's not hard. I'm not on any prescription meds, and rarely see a doctor...so hoping to keep it that way.

Does that make you a little bit nervous having it so close to you? I only know somebody who was related to somebody by marriage so it's a distance from me. Although my husband always says if he gets the Big 'A', I'll never notice because he'll seem the same! He's such a silly but he's always been so absent minded and forgetful, he might be right. I'll probably start watching for his shoes in the fridge soon. That's gotta be a dead giveaway don't you think?

Yeah we try to go 'natural' too. Lots of chia and flax seeds and supplements and all kinds of stuff.

Yes, it makes me nervous now that I'm in my 60s, but I don't obsess over it. I always thought that older folks had some problems with memory, or mild dementia...but the Alzheimer's thing where the person doesn't know who they are, where they are or who you are is very scary. Yeah, shoes in the fridge would be a red flag, lol.
