This is a captain obvious observation and a costly one at that.

But this would've never happened if somebody else was not paying for the bulk of college in the US. These schools and publishers know there are grants, scholarships, financial aid, employee & va benefits and/or parents are that paying for it so they price accordingly, not reasonably or realistically. And the sheeple students keep on buying-complaining does no good. If a publisher didn't sell any books for just one quarter at one school when they normally sell thousands that would be a wake up call. These so called "progressive" schools need to teach consumerism and boycotts.
 

Yes, like when you take your car for repairs and they ask if you have insurance, and the guy tells you it will be cheaper if you don't.

Also, the book publishers like to come out with new editions every other year, and scramble things around so used previous editions are difficult to use, at best.
