Colon Cancer Claims Another Victim

I got an email yesterday from a long time friend's wife saying he is in a hospice with no chance of surviving. Apparently he had colon cancer and beat it but recently it came back and entered his bones. I never knew that happened but I know cancer knows no limits. He & I go back to the 60s and roomed together in college and shared a house for a few years before I left the Chicago area to work in Texas. Way too many friends have gone. Today is a day of reflection and wishing things were different. Damn it all.

I am so very sorry to hear of the news surrounding your friend, FM.

This is a sad message and one that is final, I am sorry to read
about the people here who are upset by the losses they face.

Mike.

Sure cancer is bad but I have been saying this ever since Covid-19 became the media darling. In the province where I live 1,000 people died from Covid-19 in 1 year. In that same year 3,000 people have died from cancer. For my money, I'm more afraid of cancer than Covid-19 and all those darling "Variants of Interest." But then cancer isn't sexy and doesn't make the media. Then, there are all those masks and hand sanitizers from China that are good money makers. I noticed 8 big cases of face masks last week in Costco. All imported from China where the virus originally came from. Is that a good business plan or not? Too bad about all the job loses but hey, the government is there for us so why worry?
