looks too colourful more like Delhi in India etc - I prefer the old english look of Camden - this is not how London once was! I think it's losing all its englishness?? nice pics don't get me wrong just not ye olde London

I was born in Camden but moved away in 1977 when i joined HM Forces. The market has been there since the early 70s but was just a bog standard market in those days. As the market and the area now appear is a million miles away from what it used to be. I have mixed feelings on this as i remember Camden as it used to be but appreciate it's place in British music history, so that and it's undoubted 'counter culture' certainly draws in the crowds.

About once a year i do a walk from Paddington Station via Little Venice and along the Regent's Canal to Camden. It's always an enjoyable yomp but after a couple of hours in Camden I've had enough.

The photo is the Amy Winehouse statue, she played a lot of her early gigs in some of the nearby pubs.

Thanks for sharing those photos, Oy. You always capture the feeling of a place.

Was More Words, blah blah to meet the required 4 needed in a title. I sometimes have to change what I’m saying to meet the quota. I do totally understand why Matrix wants that.

Yes it was.

"Colourful Camden, London" was just fine.

Actually I remember the market in the late 70's.. it was very Bohemian in fact a friend of mine had a market stall there where she sold all sorts of Hippy style clothing etc..... that photo i took of the market was 5 years ago.. and even in that short time the market and the area has deteriorated at a rapid rate..

The walk along the towpath is the best part between regents park and Camden... and all the Narrowboats etc.. however where there was really lovely well looked after boats, that has also changed and many boat people now are not caring for their boats as we all did.. ...

One of my favourite places along the canal walk is the Floating Chinese restaurant...

I 've taken many photos of it over the years
